From Hawaii to Avalons Bay

Early in my life I had a burning desire to take a trip to Hawaii. It started when our small town college started recruiting Polynesian students for some of their sports programs. Every year I would hold a Luau in my back yard as a way to welcome newcomers to our community, special guests were the Polynesian students. There was always someone who could do different dances from Tahiti, Samoa, and New Zealand, and of course everyone’s favorite “Fire Dance”.

I began babysitting in my home for about $10 a day.  I had enough saved for the trip in about 2 years. I invited my cousin along to share expenses as well as my daughter and her friend.

What an experience! Four females who had never been on a plane before and nothing but s guidebook to direct us. When we landed, I felt like a little girl in a candy and toy store where I could get anything I wanted. On Ohau we rode the bus to Sea Life Park and of course the Polynesian Culture Center. Everywhere we went we noticed that the Japanese Tourists would point and stare at us. We finally figured out that they were fascinated by our young companion who had white blond hair. I suppose she would have been a great novelty in their country.

We were fortunate to have been offered a friends house and car while we were on the island of Kauai. The family who was still there took us on a tour of the Island. We spent some time  at the Coconut Palms Resort where Elvis Presley filmed the movie “Blue Hawaii”. Then one of the relatives shared his experience of catching an Octopus. Go For The Eye! We were then offered a sample of cooked Octopus. I tried it! very chewy but not bad.

When we arrived on the big Island, we rented a car qnd drove around the Island. We were there on the day a volcano was erupting. Isn’t that exciting? We were able to view a real erupting volcano, a once in a lifetime experience. Hawaii was all and more than I expected. Beautiful beaches, fantastic scenery and some of the friendliest people in the world. I admit I was hooked. That trip made me wish for more. The anticipation and the excitement of exploring new places, meeting new people, and eating different foods was addictive. From that time I dreamed of ways to come up with the means to travel the world. I found a way! Checkout the 3 best work at home opportunities at www.avalonsbay.com ALOHA!
