I remember when I was young we had a piano in our Living Room. It just set there and noboddy ever played it except when my aunt came to visit. When I was a teenager, I learned that the piano had belonged to my Grandmother and was supposedly the first piano briought to the Gila Valley in Eastern Ariz. About that time, I had a School Teacher who offered to give me free piano lessons. I accepted the offer and learned the basics and then was passed on to another teacher. I stayed with it 2 years until High School activities became more important to me. I had been given a great start to being a music lover.
I sang in our HIgh Schools’ Choir and had my first “solo” as and old Gypsy Lady in the operata, “Chonita”. That almost scared me from ever doing that again!
I have sung in many choirs and even took a college class in singing. I remember singing, “Shenendoa” as my final test. My only other significant solo perfomance was In a College production of “OLIVER”, where I sang “I Shall Scream,” as the Widow Corney with Mr. Bumble.
Most of my children and grandchildren have also developed a love of music. They are much more talented than I am, but we have all learned that GOOD Music helps make the world a better place to live.
My blog has been about things I enjoy. I have shared my love of travel and of water. I also have another love and that is DANCING.
When I was growing up, many of the girls in our town took dancing lessons. I could not because of my family financial situation. I remember a friend who took Ballet lessons, and when she outgrew her hard toe ballet slippers, she gave them to me. I used to practice dancing around with those sllipers until I could dance on my toes. Later in life, I was able to take some free lessons at the church or in the community. Even though I decided that ballet was not for me, it got me hooked. I went on to learn different ballroom dances, swing, Cha Cha, tap and square dancing. All great fun!
When I was over 65, I joined a dance class called “Jeans Golden Girls”, this was a performing group of women over the age of 50. We would perform for different organizations. Typically we would perform during haltime of a college basketball game. We started out linedancing then progressed to other styles such as Cha Cha, Western. Tap, and even Hawaiian. As we became more well known, we were asked to perform at parades, clubs, and schools all over Utah. We even went to Idaho and Hawaii.
It was a lot of fun dancing together and was very ADDICTIVE, especially when the young people would clap and scream their approval as they watched “The Old Ladies” moving together in perfect harmony( most of the time anyway!)
So you see you can do more than enjoy the water at Avalons Bay, you can dance too! You may also check out some great money making opportunities here: www.avalonsbay.com I hope you enjoy Life!
WATER, we drink it, clean with it, play in it, swim in it, shower and bathe in it, we also boat in it and water ski in it. Water is one of our worlds most useful elements, but under certain circumstances water can be deadly. For instance, 100s of small children and even adults die in water related accidents every year. Many times it may be caused by being unprepared or not learning the proper skills needed to be safe when around water, or it may be because of distraction for even a few minutes.
One summer I arranged for our family to go on an outing at a huge public pool and picnic area where we would play in the water of a place called “Hot Springs”, which had it’s water source from a warm natural underground spring and was located in the desert in South Eastern Arizona. At the time, I had 6 children.
As I had taught most of them how to swim, I felt comfortable with our situation. Since I love to swim and dive off of the high dive, I assigned the care of a 3 year old daughter to the older children while I spent a little time in the deep end. It was evening and was difficult to see all parts of this very large pool. After swimming for a while, I had a feeling that I should check the children at the shallow end of the pool, especially the 3 year old. When I arrived I did not see her and asked where she was. I was told that she had gone to sit on the edge of the pool and watch them play, but she was not there! I immediately started back to the deep end. It was hard to tell who anyone was because of the large amount of people in the pool. As I approached the 3/4 point, I saw a small head bobbing up and down in the water and a pair of frightened eyes that could barely be seen as they began to sink in the deep water. It was my daughter! She had followed someone along the side to the deep end thinking she would find me and not realizing the danger slipped into the water. I arrived just in time to save my daughter, and learned that an accident can happen within a matter of minutes. So please use caution around the water, especially with small children. Now I spend time at my bay where I feel save and secure and have the opportunity to make some money too.

Hi! My name is Avalon and I grew up in a small town with 12 brothers and sisters. We lived in a 2 bedroom house with one bathroom. I usually slept on a couch in the LR, and some of the others had a bed outside in the summers. I really didn’t realize how very little we had until I was a teenager. I knew we had a lot of medical problems and 3 of the children died at an early age. I never dreamed that other girls had more than 1 pair of shoes and a couple of dresses. We seemed to have some kind of food most of the times.(A lot of beans spaghetti, and potatoes), and we never went out to eat. We had very little spending money, but we did odd jobs in order to get money. I did babysitting, sold fruit from our two large fruit trees. My brothers and I even picked cotton for the cotton farmers.
I came to realize our family was looked down upon by many people in our town as that “poor family with all those kids.” That was one incentive for me to prove that I could achieve something worth while in spite of
obstacles. I worked hard to get good grades and graduated as salutatorian of my high school class. I became involved in music, drama, and sports. I was especially fascinated with water sports so I spent a lot of time in the school pool as well as public pools. I enjoyed diving and swimming meets and taught swimming lessons and became a lifeguard. I have always spent a lot of time near water, pools, lakes beaches, and bays. I joined Push Traffic to find a home based money opportunity. They helped me set up my website: www.avalonsbay.com. Won’t you join me there?
Early in my life I had a burning desire to take a trip to Hawaii. It started when our small town college started recruiting Polynesian students for some of their sports programs. Every year I would hold a Luau in my back yard as a way to welcome newcomers to our community, special guests were the Polynesian students. There was always someone who could do different dances from Tahiti, Samoa, and New Zealand, and of course everyone’s favorite “Fire Dance”.
I began babysitting in my home for about $10 a day. I had enough saved for the trip in about 2 years. I invited my cousin along to share expenses as well as my daughter and her friend.
What an experience! Four females who had never been on a plane before and nothing but s guidebook to direct us. When we landed, I felt like a little girl in a candy and toy store where I could get anything I wanted. On Ohau we rode the bus to Sea Life Park and of course the Polynesian Culture Center. Everywhere we went we noticed that the Japanese Tourists would point and stare at us. We finally figured out that they were fascinated by our young companion who had white blond hair. I suppose she would have been a great novelty in their country.
We were fortunate to have been offered a friends house and car while we were on the island of Kauai. The family who was still there took us on a tour of the Island. We spent some time at the Coconut Palms Resort where Elvis Presley filmed the movie “Blue Hawaii”. Then one of the relatives shared his experience of catching an Octopus. Go For The Eye! We were then offered a sample of cooked Octopus. I tried it! very chewy but not bad.
When we arrived on the big Island, we rented a car qnd drove around the Island. We were there on the day a volcano was erupting. Isn’t that exciting? We were able to view a real erupting volcano, a once in a lifetime experience. Hawaii was all and more than I expected. Beautiful beaches, fantastic scenery and some of the friendliest people in the world. I admit I was hooked. That trip made me wish for more. The anticipation and the excitement of exploring new places, meeting new people, and eating different foods was addictive. From that time I dreamed of ways to come up with the means to travel the world. I found a way! Checkout the 3 best work at home opportunities at www.avalonsbay.com ALOHA!
Traveling Through Egypt in 2007
The Magic of Egypt – Click here for more blooper videos
I have traveled to lots of places in the world, but always seem to return to Avalons Bay. I remember swimming in the ocean in Mazatlan and Cancun and enjoying the beaches in Rio and Hawaii. Then of course I could never forget a trip to Egypt with it’s great pyramid’s and the underground tunnels and camel rides. After that I crossed the Red Sea into Isarel where the stories of the Bible seem to come alive. I loved the many historical sites which included a delightful dip in the Dead Sea and a boat ride on the Sea Of Galilee. How can I forget a trip to the wonderful country of Italy with it’s remains of the Roman Empire, the leaning tower of Pisa, and the ruins of the city of Pompeii and of course the city of Rome. Oh Yes I had fun riding in a Gondola on the canals of Venice. This was an experience never to be forgotten!
There are so many places in the world I would still like to visit, but alas it takes a lot of money. So after finding myself to be a divorced women with 12 children, I looked for an opportunity to find work at home. This brings me back to Avalons Bay where I can play and work at the same time.
